If you have tons of Vintage Buttons, then try making this simple Scrapbook Cover using them.
My favorite feature about this Scrapbook Cover made from Vintage Buttons is that you can really find a new and unique device to display your vintage buttons!
To Make a Vintage Buttons Scrapbook Cover You Will Need:
Vintage Buttons (Lots of them)
One Scrapbook
Canvas material
Needle
Thread
Scissors
Hot glue
Ribbon
Now, the first step is to measure how wide your Scrapbook Cover needs to be. I like to make this Vintage Button Scrapbook Screen at least four inches wider and taller than the scrapbook I will be covering.
So, sew down your rough edges on all four sides. (If you want to skip this step you can cover the rough edges with ribbon when you install the scrapbook cover.
Now, start planning out the pattern you want to lay out your Vintage Buttons on the Scrapbook Cover.
You can start attaching them with your needle and thread.
I think it is important to mark out where each button will go so that you do not loose sight of the overall picture as you work along on each button.
You can create rows or lines of vintage buttons on the scrapbook cover. You can make these lines vertical or horizontal. They could also be running diagonal across the vintage looking Scrapbook Cover.
Polka dots and swirls would also look great.
To really personalize this Scrapbook Cover try sewing tee vintage buttons on in your personal monogram or initials.
Flowers like Gerber daisies are also very easy to make out of vintage buttons.
Cover the entire Scrapbook Cover with vintage buttons.
Do this for your bookmarks and even ribbon you employ to tie the scrapbook mask shut to carry out the vintage button theme.
You can also employ pages in your scrapbook adorned with vintage buttons as well.
Tip: Try leaving room at the bottom or somewhere in the middle of the vintage button Scrapbook Cover to paint on a stripe in some fabric paint. You can choose a color that will accent your photos and add some more color.
Be distinct to wash your canvas fabric first. This will allow for any shrinking before you begin working on the Scrapbook Shroud. This is especially notable if you are going to paint on the shower curtain.
Once you have finish sewing on the buttons you should lay your fabric out on a flat surface with the buttons facing down. Lay your scrapbook on top and start folding the fabric in. Glue it down inside the front and back cover of the scrapbook.
